Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actress who was best known for playing Missandei on HBO's fantasy epic "Game of Thrones" (HBO, 2011-19). Born and raised in Southend-on-the-Sea, a beach-side resort town in Essex, Emmanuel was drawn by acting at a young age. Nathalie started taking acting, singing, as well as dancing classes at 3 years of age. Her parents were immediately thrilled. Emmanuel became a fast-growing performer and in the mid-90s, she was playing young Nala for"The Lion King," a West End show of the critically acclaimed stage musical "The The Lion King." Emmanuel was a candidate for roles in TV and film when she was still a teenager. Her breakthrough came in 2007, when she was cast as Sasha Valentine, a British soap opera "Hollyoaks", (Channel 4 95between 2007 and 2010). Emmanuel was on the show for four years before leaving the show in 2010. The next major breakthrough for Emmanuel was three years later, when she was cast as Missandei in the role of interpreter for Daenerys Targaryen (portrayed by Emilia Clarke), on HBO's "Game of Thrones."
